My descent into madness began the moment I left Jubilee in that hotel room in Montreal. I'd escorted myself here to this dark place, took myself to the edge of this precipice, and plunged headfirst into its seedy bowels. Cecil Diamond was a particular kind of psycho, an unpredictable madman, who lived life to the limits, and had absolutely no boundaries. And it was just enough to keep my adrenaline pumping and my eye on the prize. I was more than aware it could get me killed. Every second, every moment could be my last. I was living on the edge and I have to admit, somehow it saved me from thinking about him… mostly.

I forced my eyes open but I couldn't get up. I was wedged between Cecil's massive three hundred pound bulk and the anorexic body of his cocaine snorting main squeeze, Dana. She was clinging to me like I was a life raft, perhaps to her, that's what I was.

My head was heavy from the alcohol I'd consumed the night before and I needed to piss. So far, aside from enormous amounts of pot and a bit of cocaine, I'd managed to fake the use of anything heavier. The scented stuff the narcotics lab manufactures for narcs helped to convince Cecil initially I did a lot of pot. You lit the stick and that sweet marijuana smell permeated everything, your car, and your clothes. It didn't hurt to gargle with beer or alcohol either.

As time wore on, these tricks weren't quite convincing enough to get Cecil to stop pressuring me to sample bath salts. It was the new designer drug of choice, known on the streets as Ivory Wave, Vanilla Sky, Purple Wave or Bliss. It really fucked with the head. I'd seen people take it at Diamond's many soirees, not a pretty sight. Snort it, inject it, smoke it… all was possible and pure paranoia, hysteria, hallucinations, not to mention wanting to blow your brains out, followed. Of course, Cecil didn't touch anything heavier than the occasional joint.

My body ached. It was from a combination of fucking, and beating the crap out of two guys who tried to move in on Cecil's territory the night before. Cecil was pissed I'd let them go. I'd beaten them within an inch of their lives with brass knuckles while he watched… I'd heard the bones crack under my fingers, and ended up bathed in blood but it wasn't enough for him. He wanted them dead. Ethically, I couldn't do that.

I touched my chest and realized I was covered in God knows what, probably a combination of cum, sweat, blood, and possibly vomit. I carefully maneuvered myself down to the edge of the bed and literally fell out onto the plush carpet.
